B65 MKT 531EMarketing Metrics1.5 Units
Description:Help early-stage companies grow and scale - The Marketing Metrics clinic, through the Center for Experiential Learning, offers you the opportunity to work directly with early-stage companies, where you'll develop data-driven growth strategies. In this immersive experience, you'll address critical challenges such as market understanding and marketing-mix optimization. This course empowers you to sharpen your analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills, preparing you to excel in any marketing role. This is your chance to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges while making a measurable impact on the success of young companies. You will work on a marketing project with a startup client as part of a student consulting team. Projects typically focus on improving marketing strategies, market analysis, customer engagement, and performance efficiency. Each team will meet weekly with the instructor, outside of regular classroom time, for guidance and progress updates. Typical problems will include market expansion, optimizing marketing channel mix, enhancing customer communication, and improving customer experiences while you are developing your skill areas in critical thinking, problem formulation, data analysis, and persuasive presentation delivery. Working in 2 - 4 person teams, you will spend time independently and collaboratively with your team, meeting weekly with your client and instructor to ensure progress. Dropping this course after being introduced to a client may impact your ability to register for other CEL courses in the future. Prerequisites: Open to 3rd and 4th year. Enrollment is limited, so students are encouraged to join the waitlist during registration. Students will be notified of their acceptance prior to the start of the semester once the client list has been finalized.

Label

Home/Ident

A course may be either a “Home” course or an “Ident” course.

A “Home” course is a course that is created, maintained and “owned” by one academic department (aka the “Home” department). The “Home” department is primarily responsible for the decision making and logistical support for the course and instructor.

An “Ident” course is the exact same course as the “Home” (i.e. same instructor, same class time, etc), but is simply being offered to students through another department for purposes of registering under a different department and course number.

Students should, whenever possible, register for their courses under the department number toward which they intend to count the course. For example, an AFAS major should register for the course "Africa: Peoples and Cultures" under its Ident number, L90 306B, whereas an Anthropology major should register for the same course under its Home number, L48 306B.
