Desc: | Parity-time symmetric systems:
This course will encompass early mathematical developments of Parity-time symmetric systems, recent developments applicable to the real world, and the implications of the former for the latter. The topics to be covered will include 1) introduction to non-Hermitian systems, pseudo- Hermiticity, time-invariants in non-unitary evolution; 2) generalization to time-periodic (Floquet), time- delayed, and memristive non-Hermiticities; 3) classical PT realizations (optics, electrical circuits, shallow fluids, coupled semiconductor lasers); 4) quantum realizations (photonics, ultracold atoms, superconducting qubits); 5) open questions. 2 Units
